About Dr. Wilke

Our chiropractor, Dr. Melissa Wilke, earned her BA in Psychology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. After completing her undergraduate studies, she wished to pursue further studies in health care. She decided that the holistic approach taken by chiropractic treatments was in better line with her own personal belief. Chiropractic school was every bit as challenging and rigorous as medical school, and her own practice and training has evolved to include techniques such as ultrasound, acupuncture, blood analysis, as well as traditional chiropractic techniques such as adjustment, massage, and biomechanics.

About Chiropractic Treatments

Chiropractic medicine relies upon the natural strength of the body to heal itself, with assistance from a variety of techniques. Chiropractors depend upon many different methods which adjust the skeletal, and muscular systems of the body to their optimal positions. By making non-invasive adjustments, chiropractic practitioners believe the body is better able to revitalize itself without recourse to drugs or surgery.

About Chiropractic Techniques

Our chiropractor will combine traditional methods, such as spinal adjustments, massage, and acupuncture, with innovative new approaches such as ultrasound treatments and blood work. We can also offer holistic and natural methods, such as advice on diet and nutrition, exercise regimens and lifestyle changes, which are designed to help our patients lead healthier lives as they progress on their journey to wellness.

We can offer specialized treatment for athletes and auto accident victims. Athletic injuries may involve muscle, soft tissue, or joint damage. Car accidents often involve spinal trauma such as whiplash. Such conditions often respond well to chiropractic methods.

Chiropractic methods can also be used to treat spinal issues such as poor posture, curvature of the spine, also called scoliosis, and slipped or herniated discs. In addition, headaches, including migraine headaches, can be helped or reduced with chiropractic methods.
